And Bingo Was His Name-Oh!

The entry below was intended to be posted at about three o'clock this morning. However, due to circumstances totally in my control, it was not. My blogger dashboard sat on my monitor until I got home from work this afternoon.

Every Thursday night I venture east about a block and a half from my apartment to the city's only 'alternative' dance bar. Once there, I host a little two hour time slot titled: "Funk'd Up Bingo". Now, mind you...I'm no professional bingo caller. Hell, I begin the evening with: "Welcome to Funk'd Up Bingo! My name is Frankie and I will be handling your balls this evening!"

It's all in the comedic delivery, kids.

The bar is never particularly crowded during this night and time but the fifteen or so of us that are in attendance usually crack several one-liners throughout the evening.

The curtain goes up:

Me: "I twenty six, I twenty six."
SRVFTOEOTB*: "You wish!"

...And, scene.

Yeah, good times.

*(some random voice from the other end of the bar)

To Dye For

it's the second image that makes me giggle like a ten year old. I asked the boyfriend to join me in a wee bit of a creative venture earlier in the evening, and he politely declined citing that he hadn't done that sort of thing since he was a child. I let him know that I was going to attempt more than the usual dip-the-egg-into-a-mug-full-of-dye deal; I was also trying my hand at marble glazing.

He declined once again.

I opened the paints, scattered the sponges and went to work. And just in case he changed his mind about the entire process being childish; I filled a few wine glasses with dip dyes giving everything a more adult aesthetic.

So NoTORIous, Indeed

I always get flack to for admitting that I have a soft spot for Tori Spelling. Still love her kids, no matter what you say. I'm very much looking forward to her new scripted 'reality' slash 'comedy' series; So NoTORIous. Judging from the Vh1 promos I've seen and all the press I've read, Tori finally gets the fact that she should stop doing "Mother, May I (fillintheblankshe'sdoneseveral)" movies of the week for every other network for women and gay men.

From the New York Times article: 'The opening of the premiere episode (Sunday at 10 p.m.) is like a highlight reel of humiliation.

"I've heard it all," Ms. Spelling said in a telephone interview during a vacation in Colorado. "I'd rather be making the joke than other people making it. So why not?"

On the show, she hangs out with her snarky friends, lives in a condo with a roommate, wages a passive-aggressive war with her mother and fears running into her former "90210" co-star Shannen Doherty.'

Don't even think of calling me during Tori time.

Playing With Kingdom Hearts

more images using google's image searchSay what you will about role playing games. I never really enjoyed them myself until Kingdom Hearts came along. I made a deposit on Kingdom Hearts 2 last week, but I didn't have the extra cash in my non-existant bank account to pick it up when it was released yesterday afternoon.

Until this afternoon.

Lucky Lady Lottery smiled upon me fifteen minutes prior to my second shift and I won two hundred dollars.

I splurged for the game guide and got the boyfriend a little something as well.

Needless to say, we're staying in for the next few days.

Back In Black

Well. It's certainly been some time since I stepped foot onto the internet, hasn't it? I'm not going to bother giving too many details about where I've been or what I've been doing for the past two years. This says it all : I needed the break. Period. Some of my time off was forced upon me; most of my time off was spent getting my priorities in order.

I'm not sure if I can just as easily get back into the swing of things, I mean...how personal do I really want to get? I learned the last time that too much personal information isn't always a good thing.

I'm happy, healthy, and very much in love. I still work at the mega-complex in the middle of nowhere for a company I tell myself I like (it's the co-workers I adore, not the job itself), and as always, have missed you very much.
